Ornaments and Decorations



The jewellery of Himachal Pradesh is unique and beautiful. Large pellet and steel jewellery of  himachali people is very famous in its area. Like many other areas the conventional style of outfits as well as putting on a costume contains ornaments for all areas of the body. The jewelry industry of Himachal Pradesh is always abounded with booths selling amulets, jewellery and dagger.
Beautiful jewellery of Himachal is usually carved out of steel. The jewellers of Kangra, Chamba, Mandi and Kullu district are very famous for their enameling skill.  The Oval-shaped exerciser anklets, iron-headed bracelets, locks ornaments, peepal-leaf-shaped temple ornaments, jewellery known as chandanhaars which can be described as a lot of lengthy silver stores linked by etched or enamelled silver plaques and jewellery with elements of the mother goddess are some of the wonderful pieces they usually create. All the art need proper workmanship and expertise as well.
Ornaments of Himachal Pradesh:-

Chak Decorations:

The Women in Himachal use a lengthy silver sequence known as Shangli. Chudamani is another decoration in the shape of a lotus plant used at the separating of the hair. Gaddi females use an decoration known as chak . It is a silver domed top-of-head decoration which has several number of varieties: where a number circular pellets are installed at the edge with silver stores .When two extra side-of-head domes are linked with the primary chak it is called a chak-phul. This decoration is not visible as it is protected by a cloth. Gaddis also use a silver jewellry chiri-tikka, chiri means sparrow. Gujjar females go decoration is known as sirka chamkuli. . It is conical in shape. It has two little circular components known as chakdi linked with silver post. It is seen as a sign of a wedded woman.
Gojru:-


Gojrus are wristbands made of silver with filter size and are used in pairs.
Chanderhar:-



It is a big scaled pendant created up of silvers with ying power work over it. It is used in weddings and exhibitions. It is used with Chola-dora and can be used with a salvar kamij as well. On wedding bridegroom also would wear chander haar.

Chiri:-


Chiri is set with the help of post and used on the temple. It is similar to the mangtika and is an important  ornament of a wedded woman.
Toke:-

These are silver wristband similar to gojri but are smoother. Tokes are also used in pair.
Pari:-

Pari is Payal(foot lace). They are worn on ankles and are made of silver. It makes sweet ringing sound on movement. It is usually an icon of the existence of a recently wed in the house but are also preferred by young girls.

Ear&Neck Ornament
 Jhumka:-




Jhumkas are the jewellery worn on the ears and enhance the beauty of himachali women. They are found in different forms.

 Singi:-




Singi is a small pendant which is portable and hangs around the neck. String has beautiful light-weight pallets and pendent is made up of silver.
Clips:-



Clips are same as common segments that are joined with silver ties drop over the plait on both parts of the neck.


Beenie Chakk:-



Its shape is circular and you set it over the plait after combing hair properly. One cycle and two posts are attached with the palit to fix the beeni chakk.

Foot Ornament
 
Phullu:-


These ornaments are the identity of a newly wedded bride in Himachal Pradesh. They come in different colors and forms. They are worn on the feet by the bride.
Fulli:-


Fulli is large nose pin made up of silver. Its shape is circular. Mostly, red shaded rock is placed in the center of fulli. It is also seen as the icon of a married woman in Himachal Pradesh.
Balu:-


Balu is a large nose ring. It comes in different forms and styles and usually made up of silver..
