The traditional dresses of himachali folks are unique and different from the rest of the world. The himachali women wear ghaghri, lengthy kurta, salwar and choli which is the shirt. The common identity of the people of Himachal Pradesh is the hand-woven outfits. The head scarves among women are very famous in Himachal Pradesh. The footwear made of shrubs are helpful in keeping feet warm in extreme cold. The traditional himachali dresses represent the great diversity of culture and religion.

The costumes as well as the languages of the people of Himachal Pradesh vary from region to region. As we move from one area to another, the dresses and the language spoken by the common folks change according to their customs and tradition.

There are many people in Himachal who love to wear ethnic costumes. The wearing reflects the great diversity of religion and culture. Costumes vary among Rajputs, Brahmins, and tribal folks like Lahaulis, Gaddis, Gujjars, Pangawals and Kinnars.
